A noise-pop band from Austin, TX, the current incarnation of Astroblast originally started as a joint venture between two bands sharing practice space outside of Waco, TX in 1995. After exhausting their student loans and discovering that most of their time was spent in Austin anyways, the band made the move down I-35 in 1998. Blending a collective lifetime of talent, this four-piece creates melodies by extracting a unique flavor of pop from seemingly random noise and combining that distilled sound with innovative songwriting born out of each band-member's unique and varied musical tastes. Influences include such artists as: The Pixies, Link Wray, Swervedriver, Yo La Tengo and the sweet melodies of the ice cream truck.
