Artifact Shore Difficult to classify, the music of Minneapolis’s Artifact Shore evokes bleak post-apocalyptic landscapes, and ranges from industrial, frenetic rage to a meticulously layered melancholy. On Landscape Removal, the band is alternately reminiscent of early Big Black, the shoegazer movement, and the more beat-oriented noise of Merzbow. Artifact Shore adeptly melds traditional rock instrumentation with electronic sources, as each song progressively constructs an architecture of fevered violence that is seductively infectious.
