8 Seconds of Simulation are a rock band based in Oberlin, Ohio which formed in March 2006 as the result of an axis label on a computer science honors project graph. 8 Seconds of Simulation are Julia Doctoroff, Joe Kimmel, Walker Evans, and Wes John-Alder. They play guitars, basses, bells, drumsticks, spring drums, and compustruments. The band's aesthetic is heavily influenced by the fact that every member majored in creative writing, music composition, and/or computer science.
