Young Agent Jones. Valuable commodities such as toilet paper and milk may not be important anymore. For six years this Starkville, Mississippi, based rock trio has been gaining recognition and popularity across the southeast United States. Fans, as well as first time listeners, have compared them to everyone from the Police to Weezer and the Ramones to Big Star. Their eagerly anticipated sophomore effort, Women Who Love Men Who Kill, recorded at Sonic Temple Recording Studio in Jackson, MS, represents these unrepentant power-poppers at the top of their game. Having shared stages with often brilliant but unknown bands, as well as bigger names such as Ben Lee, Stroke 9, Robert Randolph, The Voodoo Glow Skulls, Saliva, and Jill Sobule, Young Agent Jones is looking to broaden their stomping grounds. Comprised of Jason Jones on guitar and vocals, Mike Yeager on drums and backing vocals, and Ben Hodge on bass and occasional yelling and beat-boxing, YAJ formed in 1996 and has existed in its present form since 1997. The band's first album, Discretion is Our Profession, was independently released in 1998 and climbed the College Music Journal National Top 200 in the summer of 1999.
