There is some rock called limestone, and there is another called granite and there is some other shit called sedimentary. But there is no rock like that of Yoni Gordon & The Goods. Yoni Gordon & The Goods is a rock and roll trio, but to say the sum is greater than its parts is an understatement. Yoni's guitar and vocals are supported by Fez Aswat (formerly of Shake Senora) on bass and Scott Eisenberg (The Dubnicks, Meghan Toohey) on drums. The amount of energy that goes into their live show is enough to make any given audience believe in the almighty power of electric guitar, bass and drums and the purity of rock and roll. Yoni Gordon & The Goods draw their influence from sound sources as varied as the Rolling Stones, Velvet Underground and Elvis Costello as well as modern sensations like The Mooney Suzuki, Ted Leo/Pharmacists, and the White Stripes. They approach live performance with inspiration from a Bruce Springsteen statement which is that an audience does not go to see a band perform music in a club and just sit there, they come to be in concert with the band. People leave these shows feeling like they were part it and that is much more fulfilling than just being a passive member of a crowd. The simple fact of the matter is that Yon Gordon & The Goods are not the next anything; they are the first of something, something great. Granted they are not inventing the wheel here or revolutionizing the way we listen to music... they are simply writing great songs for the 21st century, and playing those tunes as though the world depended on them. They take you where you need to go with the force of their music, and leave you with souvenirs of their great melodies. Check out the artist's website: http://www.yonigordon.com Track List: 1.
