Born and raised in Israel. Yoni developed his love and passion for music since a young age, when he received his first guitar at the age of thirteen.

During his military service (1995-1998), Yoni studied guitar and jazz improvisation with Ofer Bryer. During that time, he also played with Miguel Sakir's Flamenco Jazz Band, "Kandela", and had the opportunity to accompany Jorge Pardo (Paco De Lucia's Saxophone Player).
In 1998, he formed, along with Ziv Reiner, the Latin Jazz band "Kilombo" which performed in festivals and venues around Israel and was chosen to be one of the house bands of "Camelot" (Israel's largest Jazz club).

In 2000, Yoni received a scholarship from Berklee College of Music, Boston Massachusetts for his distinguished abilities as a guitar player and a composer. During his studies, he formed, along with Yaron Engler, the band "Tawanda" which brought together six musicians from all over the world (Israel, US, Zimbabwe, Puerto Rico and Madagascar). "Tawanda" played original songs which combined rock elements with African and Latin flavors all written by Yoni and Yaron. "Tawanda" preformed in various clubs around Boston including "Harper's Ferry".

During that time, Yoni preformed and recorded with Berklee's top faculty members such as, Steve Heck and Danny Moris. Furthermore, he preformed and participated in Jeannie Gange's Blues Album. Finally, Yoni led a Jazz trio that preformed in various events around Boston including the Junior League's Fall Ball and Boston Public Library Annual Gala Event.

During his studies in Berklee, Yoni majored in Music Production & Engineering and had the opportunity to study with famous sound engineers such as Carl Beaty, Bill Schineman and producer Mitch Benhoff. In addition, he worked as an Assistant Engineer at "Blink Music Studio", one of the leading recording studios in Boston.
Yoni graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor Degree in Music Production & Engineering when his final project was chosen to be included in Berklee's annual CD for outstanding final projects.

In 2005, Yoni completed his first solo album "Lanua", where all songs were written and produced by him with the assistance of Oren Barzilai (Dr. Kasper's Rabbits Show), Ilan Pustopetzki and Yaron Engler.
