X over i has come a long way from where it first began. It is now a local ministry to Portland, Oregon, playing music from the soul to the soul. It has also sought to make a world-wide impact through being a global charity -- 100% of all proceeds from the sale of their premiere CD, "Higher than i," will be donated to a World Vision, a global charity that seeks to feed, clothe, and provide medical care for children wherever the need is. As for our name,"X" is the Greek letter "Chi", which is the first letter in the word "Christos," or as we know it in modern English, Christ, meaning "Anointed One" or "Messiah". "X over i" was founded as a charity project by members of Clear Creek Community Church in Gresham, Oregon in 1999, to raise money for a christian children's relief organization. Their goal is three-fold: To feed hungry children, to feed hungry hearts, and to feed churches that hunger to engage their community.
