AN ALBUM BASED ON A POEM BY AIDS VICTIM
August 9, 2005 (Pinellas Park, FL) -- The Witthlacoochee Music Depot,
aka the WMD, a band from Pinellas Park, FL , have released their debut
album "Maze". The Maze is a journey from birth through life to death. It features the spoken word poem: The Maze and 15 other original tracks. "Reviewing this work has left a profound impact on me," Randall K. Ierna of Ranluron Music writes. "I have found myself living the songs as they play and several bring all emotions to bear."

Formed in the summer of 2003, The Witthlacoochee Music Depot was a
by-product of bass player Scott Lewis Chase's boredom and a promise made to his cousin many, many years earlier. Armed with a handful of songs and 3 of his cousin's poems Scott began contacting former band mates to get the ball rolling.
Joe Raffo, Glenn Laubaugh, Mike McCann and Rick Lesniak all were active on the local scene but were into the idea of recording an album.
One of the first songs brought in to work on was called "Withlacoochee", hence the name and the idea for the WMD.

"This all started years ago when my cousin Jeff wrote a series of
poems," Scott Lewis chase, mastermind behind the WMD, explains the
background of the new album. " One called "The Maze" stood out right
away. I promised to try and produce an album based on the poem about
life. Jeff was diagnosed with AIDS a year or so later and has been
fighting the disease since then.
It took quite a long time to gather the resources to begin. 3 years ago
I got a green light to begin. I carefully selected the band members
based on their experience and writing abilities. We have all known each
other and played in other bands together before, making the process a
lot more pleasant and productive."
The WMD's goal is to write, record and produce music that is positive
and inspiring. They tithe a portion of their proceeds to AIDS charities
and are sponsoring a benefit concert for the Gulf Coast Tampa Bay AIDS
Network on Sept. 4, 2005. The band will be performing their album live
for the first time.

"We are different from everyone by design," comments on the band's
musical appearance. "Some people compare us to Pink Floyd, some say,
David Bowie with the Allman Brothers. Or a Creed type band with a lot of pop influences. And my favorite, Steely Dan with an attitude!!! Who
knows?
