Playing, accessible, original, raw-retro-rock. Biography The Music '" “Having sampled a small portion of the demo (recorded live in 1 day) The Vue’s music is definitely unique, they have "it". Influences could be heard like, ACDC, The Who, Powder Finger, Jet, Black Keys, Jeff Buckley, Led Zep, The Beatles, yet they haven’t just reinvented this, they have instead created something that holds and moves people in the same way, and it’s about time music took that path again. This band deliver live with such conviction it reminds me of what music is meant to be, communication.†- Beat The Story - Out of the Ashes of a destroyed engagement and after 1.5 years adventuring round the World, Rich Latimer Singer/Songwriter for Byron’s Favourite Sons THE VUE returns home to a rural palace, solace and his black cat Chinta and decides to start a band named after the vista he awakens too each morning. THE VUE Placing an Ad in the paper Rich meets drummer Chris who had recently moved to the north coast from Sydney after leaving his prior band of 10 years (Ankh) and wanting more from the musical side of life. Although coming from different musical backgrounds, Chris having a heavy & fast style and Rich playing a more blues rock genre, the two gelled immediately writing four songs on their first jam together. Realizing the potential of their combined styles, they began to practice in earnest using every spare minute to create a new and exciting style of rock music that flowed with soulful dynamics and fluidity giving them a very unique sound all their own. From here and after 4-6 months as a two-piece THE VUE recruit Mick Harris (Australia Version of Les Claypool) the into the line-up. Mick a genius a gentleman (rare combination), who has been studying a 3-year degree in the art form. The trio in late 2004 begin the task of making heir mark on the music world. Little did they know how much could be achieved in such a small time ! SO.....In 14 Months what can a totally unknown indie band from Byron Bay Australia with no cash no capital no songs, a broken hearted front-man and for the first 4 months no bass player, do, in the dog eat dog, covers only venues, who the hell are you attitude of the OZ music business.
