When Jason Misrahi and Jason Knapfel were introduced, their musical collaboration started almost immediately. Sharing a common love for the classic songwriters (Lennon/McCartney, Jagger/Richards, Dylan) along with some of the fresh faces in rock today (Wilco, Ryan Adams, Aimee Mann) it was apparent that the two shared similar musical goals. Misrahi has spent the last few years playing solo acoustic shows, with songs of classic folk singer-songwriter appeal. Along comes Knapfel with his power pop and indie rock influences that shifted Misrahi's sound upon their first collaborations. Over the course of several months, the Brite Side was born. Their enthusiasm took quick hold, which had the duo starting a debut before a band was even in place. Enlisting the talents of previous bandmates and local musician friends, the framework was laid. Rhythm guitarist Nick Orow played on most tracks and lead guitarist Jason Snider added backing vocals for "Can You Help Me." And rounding out the final lineup is drummer Jon Wilkins a former bandmate of Knapfel's and sure to be a creative influence on future recordings. After several months of trial and tribulation, the Lifeless Lady EP was completed, an effort the band is proud of, but is seen as the foundation for what will be a more ambitious full length they hope to begin in the near future.
