The Actual Facts are New York's freshest and finest rock band: a stomping garage-pop outfit whose dedication to the task of rocking your insides cannot be underestimated. Actual Facts songs are hooky, addictive, playful and frequently highly informative. Actual Facts songs offer you advice and information you can trust, such as how to end an abusive relationship, how to treat a black eye, or what to wear on your first day of prison.

Actual Facts songs range in style from strident rockers to naive anthems, songs born out of a love for the ragged pop of people like Jonathan Richman, Billy Bragg, the Buzzcocks, Pixies, Elvis Costello, the Undertones, Pavement, Neutral Milk Hotel, Ted Leo, Guided by Voices, Television, Neil Young, the Velvet Underground and so on.

The Actual Facts are:
Tim Simmonds - vocals, guitar - founding member of the band, British transplant, previously one half of the short-lived and never influential Brooklyn band Odd Squirrel.

Bill Gerstel - drums - formerly of the Mad Scene, and currently moonlighting with Pinataland.

Michael Galinsky - bass - also a Mad Scene alumnus, also formerly of Sleepyhead. Michael is a documentary filmmaker. He and his wife Suki Hawley made the movie Horns and Halos, the story of the controversial publication of the Bush biography Fortunate Son.

The Actual Facts play shows regularly in New York. They have played alongside bands such as the French Kicks, the Silent League, Karl Hendricks trio, Johnny Dowd band and Silkworm.
