With a communal veneration of vintage equipment and warm ambient sounds, the four expatriate outcasts from separate far reaches of the U.S. converged upon Seattle and were drawn together like serendipitous magnets, ready to explore the reverberation of their varied backgrounds in pursuit of melodic soundscapes and significance without self-importance. Innovative guitarist Bobby Lewis enticed frenetic but creative vocalist/guitarist Darcy Hudelson into his chaotic and dyslexic world of musical disorder and then shortly thereafter begged, bribed, and browbeat the blissful drummer Brent Finch into signing his life away for all things rock. The ensuing triumvirate cycled through bassists and survived an era of personal confusion only to come back with a vengeance and soon were rounded out by the talented multi-instrumentalist and barista extraordinaire Jeremy Summer. In 2005, amid the fervor of burning up the road from Seattle to the Canadian border in a poor man’s pursuit of affordable recording, The Adeen EP slipped quietly into existence like a dog that refused to die. The raw and unadulterated resulting album reflects the live and ambient quality that drives Thaelo’s live shows…undulating guitars, quietude, screaming and airplanes…and emancipated songwriting that soon thereafter earned them a slate in the Post Records stable. Standing at only 5 songs, the critically lauded Adeen EP lands on a full-length track by running over 30 minutes, an ethereal apparition yielding an unapologetic wall of sound. Currently inventing, recording, and living the life in their newly-birthed studio CampTina, Thaelo is working on their first full-length album to be released in late 2006 and doing what they do best…enjoying each other’s company and chasing the perfect album one manic idea at a time.
