shirock:..bio Unique. Emotional. Talented. Driven. These are all words that describe the Nashville-based progressive pop group SHIROCK. SHIROCk is made up of: Chuck, Pap, Adam Gatchel, and Derek Blank. Lead by Chuck, a prolific 23-year-old songwriter from Detroit, Michigan they have been entertaining crowds up and down the Eastern United States with their distinctive style of progressive pop music. Raised in both the Philippines and Scotland, Chuck began experimenting with music at an early age. He started with the piano, and then when his family moved back to the U.S., formed his first band. In high school he began writing on both piano and guitar, and performing his music at both school and local events. Four years ago he moved to Nashville to pursue his music career while completing his degree in Belmont University's School of Commercial Music. Here SHIROCK began. During the past five years, SHIROCK has been writing, recording and performing. They have recorded and produced three full-length albums and one 3 song singles-EP, supporting them though tours (between 8-15 shows a month). The first two albums were recorded and mixed in Detroit, with producer and friend Michael King. Four songs off of the first album, "Audio Diaries," were played on one of Nashville's large mainstream radio stations, 102.9 The Buzz. SHIROCK also did an on air interview. The song "All is Well" did particularly well with listeners and was requested frequently. The singles from SHIROCK's most recent full-length album "Believe," have been helping to grow radio support everywhere that SHIROCK performs live. The singles, "Mission to the World," "Well Aren't We All," and "Believe" have all been been played at radio stations in Nashville, Columbus, Louisville, Knoxville, Cookeville, Atlanta, Bowling Green University, and many more. With the release of SHIROCK "The Sputnik Session" Singles EP, Radio support has began to Sky-Rocket. "Say it Out" has just started to pick-up momentum, and will continue to do for the months ahead. "We are targeting Indy and College Radio right now and getting an amazing response!" Said SHIROCK in a recent interview. "The Sputnik Sessions" EP was recorded in Nashville with producer and friend Mitch Dane (Jars of Clay). With this project, SHIROCK feels they have truly defined and presented who they are and what they stand for through these introspective and emotionally revealing songs. With the buzz about SHIROCK's most recent effort, they have performed showcases for major record labels while in New York, and plans are currently being made for multiple private industry showcases in LA later this year. SHIROCK is truly a gifted band and whether they are performing full band or playing an intimate broken down set, their performances are both emotional and energetic. Chuck possesses a distinctive charismatic quality that draws listeners into the music and into himself. This is music that will be around for years to come. "Our passion is simply connecting with people. We want to have an impact on people when they hear, see, or meet us; we want to lift them out of the ordinary. The music we make along side our producers and bridges the gap to the listener, and this becomes our voice. We will strive to get to the heart of people no matter who is listening. It is our passion, and it is what we were made for." Check out the artist's website: http://www.shirock.net Track List: 1. Say it Out 2. I'll Take Rain 3. No Regrets Suggested CDs:Other Genres:
