Formed in may, 2000, Shelly Dixon Band took the stage for the first time in early June at the Midwest Original Music Showcase at Columbia Street West.

Love at first site,word of mouth and good promotion have built an ever-increasing interest in the bands music.

Singer/songwiter Shell Dixon's personal influences include vocalists Melissa Etheridge,Stevie Nicks and P.J.Harvey, while the band counts among their influences artists such as the Afghan Whigs,Flickerstick and Garbage.

The powerful music backs up a powerful voice.

Prior to the release of their debut album "Drive", The bands single "Life is good" was chosen by representatives of the record industry to be included on the compliation CD "Extreme Essentals vol.4" (2001) and "Keep us together","Extreme Essentals vol.5" (2002)both songs have been getting radio play as a result.

Time will only serve to romance and inspire the band to keep creating and performing into the unknowm.
