in the beginning
It all started with an ice cream bucket and a tin pan. Shane remembers the day his brother brought home his first pair of drum sticks from the music store. He was only seven and had no set of drums, but he didn’t let that stop him. He made a set from scratch with several ice cream buckets and his mom’s tin pans. A short time later, his sister’s boyfriend gave him his first set of drums and Shane immediately went to work honing the craft that would become the backbone of his creative destiny. Shane’s love for music didn’t stop with the drums. By the time he was 16, he had
mastered the guitar, piano, bass, and even the mandolin. He grew up in the rural Alabama countryside learning strong values and the benefits of hard work. In the spring of 1999, Shane's education in business marketing, combined with his natural talent for producing and writing, and keen ear for discovering great new talent became the cornerstone for the launch his own pop label, Playroom Records. His vision was to touch the hearts, minds, and emotions of listening audiences worldwide through the power of music entertainment. Playroom specializes in pop, rock, and dance music targeting the sophisticated teen demographic, and beyond. You can find out more about the company's past, present, and future by visiting the label's official site here.

his style
Although Shane composes music in many different styles, it is the heartfelt lyrics and beautifully crafted melodies that easily identify Shane and his music. He grew up listening to everything from bluegrass to hip hop. "As an artist, you are forced to be clearly branded and identified by your style. In the music business, versatility is not necessarily your friend." Says Shane. "I've clearly broken the rule here. I would not be content performing only one style of music."

past success
Shane’s initial recording and live performances began in 1998, when he along with several childhood friends formed the band Third Door. With an 8 track recorder, Shane self produced the band’s debut CD in his tiny apartment. One of the first songs written by Shane took Third Door to New York where the band had the opportunity to play in New York’s infamous Apollo Theater alongside such names as Eve, Sisqo and Jessica Simpson. The song was called "Little Crazy" and caught the attention of Teen People Magazine and Warner Brothers Records. The band was eventually voted by readers as the best unsigned band of 2000. Although bestowed with success things didn't seem to come quick enough
for the young band and the group ended up parting ways. Shane, however, continued creating music and despite working a 50-hour a week job managed to use all his spare time to sharpen his natural talent for recording and mixing.
In 2003, Shane released his debut CD "All Over Now", and the "Girl in the Red" EP" which received airplay on over 100 college radio stations throughout the U.S. The EP even went on to chart in the top 30 at many different cities nationwide. His sophomore release, Gingerbread House, would soon follow. With the help of the Internet, Shane’s international appeal has attracted fans from Kuwait to Peru. In 2004 Shane won first place in the VH-1 Song of the Year Songwriting Contest with his song "Deep Inside Of Me", while his song "Heaven In You" received honorable mention.

the future
In 2005, Shane made the decision to focus all of his attention on writing and producing for other artists. Shane is currently producing and writing for pop artist, and label mate, Kelly Cagle. Kelly's debut album 'New Day', is scheduled for release in the spring of 2006. Shane’s debut album, ‘All Over Now’, Girl In The Red EP, and most recent release, Gingerbread House, can still be purchased online through Playroomstore.com while supplies last. Stay tuned...
