Showcasing stratospheric rock with soaring female vocals, Orchards & Vines was the first Canadian band featured by Napster. They released their powerful debut single "In The Darkness" on the Internet and quickly caught the ears of some of the biggest players online as well as topping numerous internet and college radio charts. Their music has been garnering glowing reviews and features by popular music sites such as Audiogalaxy, MP3.com, BeSonic & About.com's Alternative Music Guide.

Formed in Vancouver, Canada by songwriting team Cindy Tomlinson (vocals) and Ted Koppman (guitars) in 1994, Orchards & Vines expanded to include Ron Mann (drums) in '95 and Elinor Harshenin (cello) in '96. The addition of Jesse Cullen in 1999 ended a long search for the right bass player, accelerating the recording process that saw the completion of their debut CD, Tomorrow's Yesterday

"From the first track of this remarkable CD, the music just jumps out at you and blows you away. The musicianship and excellent harmonies of this band are mind boggling." ~ The Global Muse

"Cindy Tomlinson puts her lyrics to work, using vivid imagery to heighten the themes within each song and polish off the overall surreal quality inherent in each... the band's musical structure comes to life with streaming, fuzzed chord riffs, meandering basslines, crashing cymbals, and the refined use of a classic cello sound. The songs possess an integrity that would seem to withstand time and exhibit proficiency toward composure that immediately sets the band apart from the rest." ~ Gardiner Rhoderick, Audiogalaxy

"Their songs either unfold marvelously on your mind or strap it onto a rocketship aiming to the sun." ~ Alejandro Alaluf, DreamPop Links Best of 2000

"Opening with the carpe diem flair of the title track, and closing with the crashing twilight of Turtle Bliss, I imagine this is what LSD sounds like. Violet may be the album's pinnacle, an absolutely gorgeous song about the death of the love of your life. The songs have a Kafka quality to them; the use of cello accents with the almost distorted quality of the vocals, giving the album a dream like feeling." ~ More Than Just A Pretty Face

"Orchards & Vines produce a flow of complex melodies, humming guitars, soaring vocals, and overall modern rock goodness. Lead vocalist Cindy Tomlinson makes each tune work with an impressive range and delivery." ~ HMV Presents
