Its hard to put Monkey In A Mansuit into just one genre. The music is always catchy, but its dips into modern rock, funk, acoustic, and at times is very experimental. The lyrics take you on an emotional rollercoaster. It would be safe to say that they can be silly, deep, and sometimes sad. Its all about the feeling and expression. To understand it you would have to know the singer/songwriter of the band, and to do that all you have to do is listen to the music. M.I.A.M. started in 1998 and it has seen many band members come and go, but through each phase the music has constantly evolved. Check out "Set In Stone", it will grow on you. Modell is the lead singer of Monkey In A Mansuit. He just put out a solo EP entitled "The Facade". It is different from M.I.A.M. so make sure to check it out.
