The Molli Paige Band took shape in 1997, when Andy Hunt and Molli Paige put together an acoustic duo, playing smaller venues in the Tacoma/Seattle area. Realizing the mix of talent was a good match, they saw the potential for growth and added bassist, Jeff Whitney, drummer, Aaron Matthieson and back up singer Kelly Power in 1999 & 2000. Working with Marcus Simmons at Pacific Studios, they recorded their self released 6-song-epcd called 'Get A Taste, And Want More...'. The band started to build a following, playing at places like The Harmon, The Spar, benefit shows, and other venues.

In mid-2001, both Molli and Andy relocated to Portland, Oregon going "back to basics", developing a new acoustic sound. Playing venues, including Portland Saturday Market, Starbuck’s (Beaverton), and, of course, some benefit functions. They even managed to record a 10 song acoustic CD (again at Pacific Studios, Tacoma Washington.) This Molli Paige CD is titled Exklusiv Akustik. They continued their musical venture in the stripped down version throughout 2002-2004.

For a short period of time in 2005, they had the pleasure of working with bassist, Jimmie Denny, and drummer, Dave Grasser. With this line-up they played venues around the Portland area, such as The Dublin, Portland Saturday Market, The Buffalo Gap and a waterfront stage show at Portland Pride Fest ‘05.

Later that same year they connected with bassist, Corrin Rosasco and drummer, Rhonda Piasecki...and together they blended a compilation of melodic pop/rock mixed with a funky/bluesy sound.

In early 2006 our guitarist/music-partner, Andy Hunt, relocated to the East coast. And, after a series of auditions with many gifted local guitarists, we happened upon the extremely talented Joseph Kern. Joseph’s edgy blues style and lyrical phrasing fused perfectly with the blend of The Molli Paige Band sound. As the newest element of the band, his approach to the existing original material was true to the initial idea of each song, and yet he introduced a distinctive signature that gave the songs new dimension.

Now more than ever, with a lineup of truly talented and experienced musicians, The Molli Paige Band will continue to develop a strong local following as they bring their songs to life and perform live. Already playing venues, including the annual “Art Hop” on Alberta Street, Six Days, Sydney’s Café, The Green Room w/ the “So Called Blues Band”, Portland Pride Fest ’06, and more. Molli’s powerful, yet sensitive vocal-stylings, Corrin’s catchy bass lines, Rhonda’s remarkable and steady drumming, and Joseph’s expressive guitar playing, The Molli Paige Band is meant to be a notable feature in the Portland music scene.
