Vision without substance has no legs on which to stand. Substance without vision is irresponsibly complacent. Although modern electronic rock band linger could be described in many ways, the preceding is definitely the most absurdly poetic way. Yet, such words go along way from describing the story of linger - how the vision of 3 people have overcome the rejections and discouragements of any rock band trying to find themselves in this musical maze. After 4 years linger now has 2 EPs under their belt and has been priviliged to play an average of 100 shows a year. The vision started when Atlanta based vocalist/guitarist Cregg Gibson decided he wanted to give people something different, something to think about, something to question. After some shuffling of personnel, name changes, and a wrestling match with the muse of musical style, linger found itself with 3 members sharing the same dreams and visions; Cregg Gibson, Jeremy Cole, and Stevie Monce now complete the line up for this up and coming band called linger. Their constant desire to push themselves and each other creatively quickly gave them an impressive local fan base. The combination of huge guitars, electronic edge, and a show as passionate as the vocals, has kept linger fans on their toes just waiting to see what's next. After 3 years of touring, linger decided it was time to re-vamp and take everything to the next level, it was time for some fresh material. The decision to take a year off the road and spend it in the basement of Cregg Gibsons home was a must. In the words of Cregg: "It was the most frustrating, stressful, amazing time of my life, and I loved every second of it." This now brings us to the present time with linger in the studio, recording some new material and playing as many shows as they can to keep up with the increasing studio bills!
