Vow Bio THE EARLY YEARS 93-97 93 Brothers Javier Valle "Bishop", Rodrigo Valle "Tivo" and school friends Carlos Carafa, Marco Salinas "Jahnsen" started a band under the name "The Gloom". 94-95 C Carafa and Jahnsen, lived abroad this two years "The Gloom" changed to "Minim Poultrice", on January 95 the band recorded and radio released a single track called "Dying prey". 96 The band released a three track EP of instrumental songs called"Escape to deep blue". LE VOW 97- to date 97 Casting sessions seeking a female vocalist were held and Marylinda Dewitt joined the band that was finally re-named "Le Vow". Le Vow did some gigs for the first time ever, covering songs from their main Brit-new wave influences, such as The Cure or Siouxie and the Banshees. On April 97, "Low bow song" and "Sphinx Noise" were recorded and released as singles. On June Marylinda left and the band spend the rest of the year compilating and working out demos to assemble a record. 98 Geraldine O'Brian "Gerald" joined Le Vow on December 97 and completed the band sound, Le Vow's first record "Antisymmetry" was produced recorded and mixed between January - February 98 containing twelve tracks. This record was released under no label, it was distributed and promoted by the band during the year. Over this time Le Vow gigged constantly, participated in festivals and acoustic concerts, a highlight of this year was the headlining participation in the "Free Tibet Festival, Earth dance Bolivia" in October 98. 99 On April a one hour live show on PAT TV networks (national network) was broadcasted, followed by the bands first national tour. The single "Vermelho", reach number four in the ranking. By the second half of the year the band started working in their second release which was completed by the end of the year. Titled "Minim Poultrice" (named after their previous band name) this release was also recorded, produced, distributed and promoted independently by Le Vow. 00 Le Vow launched a web site and recorded a second one hour live show at "Rasguña las piedras" from PAT-TV networks, as part of the promotion for their second release. By July Le Vow records a live album called "Temper Tantrum" featuring tracks from their two previous studio albums. By the second half of the year Le Vow participated in an alternative project scoring the soundtrack for a theater play called "The killing joke", the record was mainly instrumental and was named after the play. In December Le Vow headlines their biggest concert to the date in a festival for 10.000 people. 01 G. O'Brian left the band and the band focused in instrumental tracks, along with working with a contemporary dance group called "Katac" to develop a performance with music composed and arranged by Le Vow. The performance named "Déjà vu" was presented from October to December 01 in La Paz Bolivia. 02 G. O'Brian returns to the band in January and the band records their fourth album (July- September 02) the albums first single "Head Out" peaks at the top ten of local charts, along with the release of this album titled "Spinning Volts", Le Vow releases a limited edition collectors pack featuring their four studio albums. Named "Le Vow-Collection" the 250 packs limited edition is sold out. 03 The band decides to broad their market and moves to London UK to promote their most recent release and gigs in various venues in London. The band played in popular alternative music venues such as the "Bull and Gate" and "Dublin Castle". By the second half of the year's part of the band returns to Bolivia due to other commitments. 04 By the end of the year Le Vow starts working again preparing demos for a coming up release in 2005.
