"A killer combination of power pop and straight ahead rock and roll." This is how Michael Macey, a producer at D.C.-area radio station WRNR (103.1FM), describes the music of Inside Voices-but this band is not so easy to characterize. Inside Voices combines several unique sounds-ranging from pop and rock to down and dirty blues-rock. Inside Voices grew out of the popular party band "Quazi", and has played at well-known venues including Arlene's Grocery in NYC, Grape Street in Philly, Fletcher's in Baltimore, the Hard Rock Café in Washington, D.C., The State Theater in Falls Church, Maryland, and Six Flags in Largo, Maryland. The band brought out nearly 500 fans to the release show for their first EP and was chosen to perform in 2 separate Hard Rock Café Battle of the Bands and at several summer music festivals billing with bands such as Everclear, Vertical Horizon, Uncle Kracker, The Pat McGee Band, Concrete Blonde, and The Presidents of the United States of America. In spring 2004, Inside Voices released its first full-length CD, called "Quazi's Greatest Hits." The CD's 10 songs have been exceptionally produced by Mike Wolpe (Moodroom), showcasing powerful vocals, catchy hooks, and a driving rhythm section-a mix that The Washington Post has called "a nice blend of melody and edge." Already, Inside Voices' music has been played on Washington's DC101, Z104.1, WRNR in Annapolis, Baltimore's 98 Rock, and Delaware's 96 Rock and 106.9FM. Even as Inside Voices continues to play out in support of "Quazi's Greatest Hits," it is already back in the studio, writing and recording new original music.
