Individually, the members of CULTURE SMOKE (George Aguilar, Gilbert Ramos, Ramon Michel, & Vincent Young) come from a wide variety of musical backgrounds, ranging from Classic Rock and Metal, all the way to Flamenco and Skaw; But collectively they comprise a single dynamic entity which seeks to push the limits of Rock Music into a new direction. Originating from Southern California, the band performs primarily in Los Angeles County, Orange County, Santa Barbara, and San Diego. Recently, with the release of their debut album "When the Smoke Clears" the band is seeking to broaden it’s range of influence to more outreaching parts of the country. With worldwide distribution on CDBaby.com, and affiliation with TAXI, Culture Smoke is expanding its networking enterprise to further regions. On a more musical note, the band utilizes and blends Latin rhythms, reggae rhythms, and traditional Rock rhythms into it’s songs. Structurally there is the typical followed by the not so typical sequence patterns, which is quite reminiscent of Led Zeppelin and of early Metallica. Vocally, there are plush harmonies followed by strong vocal leads. And the guitar work on the album is broken up between power chords, single melodies, and solos. Together, the CULTURE SMOKE style is aggressive at times, and easy going in others. But the overall feel is one of an assertive Rock band that is driven to succeed, and push the boundaries of their writing abilities.
