Black Giraffe is an alternative rock band from Los Angeles. They were formed two years ago by Peter Yoon, Jason Matloob and Matt Schaeffer. They are influenced by many different types of bands including Sonic Youth, Nirvana, Dinosaur Jr, Foo Fighters, Marcy Playground, The Pixies, Weezer, The Screaming Trees, The Ramones and Mudhoney. Because of their wide range of influences, they play many styles of rock like alternative, experimental rock, pop rock, and punk. They recently recorded their second Demo at Studio City Sound and were also interviewed for a new TV network called the Independent Music Network. They recently played at the 2005 Los Angeles Marathon. Black Giraffe will be performing at the Roxy on sunset on Saturday May 28.
