The Niche is not mainstream pop. So, what is The Niche we fill? The Niche is for people who enjoy the warped sense of humor of Frank Zappa and Ween when combined with the intense improvisations of Phish. The Niche is for people who love classic rock when they cover The Who, The Beatles, Steely Dan and many more. The Niche is for intellectual people who enjoy finely crafted compositions, yet is also for the party-goers who simply want to dance. The Niche sings songs of staplers, urinal cakes, obesity, the pain of bachelorhood, and anything else that could be ridiculed. Some other groups The Niche caters to: lovers of Broadway musicals ("Jesus Christ Superstar"), fans of hip hop ( Outkast, Snoop Dogg), people who like fart jokes ("Fart!"), radio jingles, ("Bob Johnson's Chevrolet"), late night porn surfers ("I Love Vaginas"), romantics, Howard Stern fans, the upper class, the poor and down-and-out, and too many more to name. The Niche plays everything. The Niche has something for everyone. Since their inception in March of 2000, The Niche has opened for practically every major act in the "jam" scene such as Project Object (ex- members of Frank Zappa's bands) , Max Creek, John Brown's Body, Psychedelic Breakfast, Schleigho, Conehead Buddha, ulu and Addison Groove Project. Bands like Dr. Didg, Gordon Stone, Raq, Freebeerandchicken, Nero and Mountain Mojo Authority have opened for The Niche. Nicheland 2, the festival event of June 2003 in Upstate NY, was attended by 700 rain-soaked fans simply by the power of word of mouth. The notoriety created has led to featured spots in festivals around NY state such as the Sterling Stage Memorial Day Music Fest, Grateful Jam and Scottypaluza. Travels over the past year have included appearances at New York City's infamous CBGB's and Lion's Den, in addition to venues in New Jersey, Ohio and Rhode Island. If you like to party and are ready to see and hear the unexpected, we are The Niche for you. Check out the artist's website: http://www.theniche.org Track List: 1. Hungree Mungree 2.
