Our ongoing quest to create the sounds that move the asses of the masses

bassment breaks is a unique trio in the jam band tradition of, "M, M, W", & "Galactic". They present an original sound and concept that falls somewhere between the band "Morphine" and Maceo Parker. Doing mostly original tunes along with unique takes on some more traditional jazz/funk tunes, they present a sound that is rhythmically charged dance music with a creative improvisational jazz element that defies easy categorization
what began as instrumental improvisational jams has grown into a catalogue of many original tunes and some loveable cover tunes with bassment breaks own funky spin. formed in early 2004 in the bassment of local saxophone great perry conticchio with the former rhythm section from a rock outfit named sam's hot car lot. Bassment breaks consists of Jason duffy on drums perry conticchio on saxophone and walter mcgrath on bass. Currently playing in and around the Washington D.C. metro region, bassment breaks is the areas funkiest, jamminest, saxophone/ bass/ drum trio.
an experiment in experimentation which has consistently both delighted and intrigued all who have experienced it.
