Rosario Panzarella, born January 16, hails from central New Jersey. Rosario grew up in a very musical family. His uncle Frank, a violin virtuoso and accordion master, and his father Chris Martino, a prominent entertainer and vocalist in the NY area. At the age of 16 Rosario bought his firs guitar and learned to play it himself. Playing 10 to 14 hours a day this wonderful instrument consumed him. "My big influence at the time was a Dokken record, Under lock and key, I must have bought 9 copies of that tape that year. Another biggie was Vinnie Moore, Mind's Eye. Who knew a guitar could do that?" By the time Rosario was a in high school, he started a band with childhood pals, Ray Francisco and Ken Ala to form Zepherus in 1988. He recorded dozens of songs with this band in local recording studios and played all of the hot clubs on the east coast that played host to original music. Zepherus stayed together until 1994 near enough to gain lots of major label interest but never signed a deal. Taking a break from the band scene Rosario apprenticed at City Lights recording studio in Farmingdale NJ. Studying under some of the areas top engineers. "I got to see the whole process of the recording session from the engineers side, a different perspective altogether." Rosario spent 2 years as an apprentice before becoming part of the paid staff at City lights and worked there for another 2 years. Sitting in and working on sessions with the likes of George Clinton and the P Funk, Bruce Foster, Southern Cross (Mango Brothers), and countless others. With the changing industry and technology, it became affordable to bring the studio home. Rosario left the big studio , and built his home studio to pursue his own musical interests. Rosario has most recently played with the local band Kill Whitie, a hard rock cover band and Lickin Mickey, a another hard rock cover band with ex members of Zepherus. Rosario has produced several Cd's for some local artists including internationally acclaimed Rita Berti from Italy and local Charity favorites holiday express. Rosario is currently working on several projects right now focused on creating background music for TV and film and working on his upcoming full length 2007 CD release.
