" Kids On The Road " : The birth of AGENOR SQUAD

A colored name which could be the one of Carribbean music, but no we are talking about Rock, even Heavy Rock.
The main man is of course the tennis player Ronald Agenor, formely ranked among the top 20 players in the world.
What can be done between tennis matches to drop the pressure and the stress of the tournaments ? For Ronald, it was never a question. All the hotel rooms where he spent most of his time since he started his tennis career were the witness of the progressive improvement of his guitar skills, practicing sometimes up to 7 hours per day. Ronald's guitar playing was influenced by guitar greats such as : Carlos Santana, Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, Randy Rhoads, Ingwie Malmsteen, Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and his brother Lionel, an exceptional guitar player.

This passion was since the beginning shared by Sam Lucas
( ryhtm guitar ) in whom Ronald, his teacher for many years, found a good partner. The road to find the other musicians was just a question of time to finalize the project of the band Ronald always dreamed about.

He contacted then bass player Jean Michel Dietsch, whose musical experience ( 2 LP's with High Power, top French Heavy Rock band ) brought more balance to Ronald's compositions. This led to the addition of drummer Christophe Debris, who became the fourth man.

Finding a singer for " Kids On The Road " was an easy task. " Tiger " was a close friend to Ronald and his brothers, having playing in a band together "`The Tramps ". Tiger's long experience with bands such as White Heat and Sleeze Beez, and his exceptional voice were perfect to give the final and decisive touch to " Kids On The Road ". Tiger also wrote all the lyrics and played the keyboards on the majority of the songs.

The songs on the album are between classical Heavy Rock
" Forever Love Forever Live ", and " Rising Up ", and Rock, " You Got Me Now ".
There is a funky touch in " Rock That City " and a bluesy feel with " Mistreated By Love ", without forgetting a classic Rock ballad like " Kids On The Road ". " I love That Woman " has an elaborate and heavy atmosphere and
" Should Understand " has a little mix of everything in it.

It was Ronald's first studio album, recorded in Bordeaux, France in 1990 at Studio Cactus. Agenor Squad was scheduled to Tour after the recording of " Kids On The Road ", but it never happened. It was becoming too difficult to do both music and tennis. The album " Kids On The Road " was not a short experience of a professional tennis player who was getting tired of his tennis career, it was a real band in which all the members had a common passion : MUSIC
