Born in the urban wasteland of Kansas City, inspired by the great guitar noise expressionists, fed by a common dislike for the schmooze and surpassed by no one; Rocket Fuel Is The Key. Back in the early days (mid 90's), it was a raw explosion of fury backed by precision execution that was the core. Rocket Fuel Is The Key's debut album -"Consider It Contempt" released mid '96 on Thirsty Ear- tore a new hole in the noise of the 90's. Held for a time in suspended animation, the 3 have honed the craft to include expanded songwriting talents with no less the anger. At the top of their game, Durgin (gtr, vox), Denson (thick strings) and Johnson (drums), return with an onslaught of dischordal bliss and intense vocal hooks galore. Built on a foundation of their classically unstoppable rhythm section, Rocket Fuel Is The Key proves once and for all, you don't need AmRep (R.I.P.) to do it right. I'm talking, these punks have no regard for the "Modern Rock" schlock of the day and they've got the middle fingers to prove it. Early 2005 and Rocket Fuel Is The Key delivers a fresh batch of sonic rage bold enough to scare the pants off of the late great Drive Like Jehu boys. Their new album -"Stroke Of Genius"- is slated to hit stores July 2006 being released on the infamous Madison, WI label Crustacean Records.
