Skating up, down and all around the streets of San Francisco, California is dance punk band Riot-A-Go-Go, Nova Lee Szoka (vox, guitar), Matt Kreutz (drums) and Casey Pitts (bass). This exhilarating female fronted trio mixes the urgency of punk and the heaviness of rock-n-roll with the swing of soul to create a sound described by one critic as "Minor Threat meets the Runaways." With call and response verses critiquing consumer culture and regressive politics, bringing to mind bands such as MC5, Rancid, James Brown, and The Minutemen, Riot-A-Go-Go maintains a beat that keeps listeners moving. Since 2002 the band has received notable press as one of the many college bands to watch. To date Riot-A-Go-Go has toured throughout the U.S. including parts of Canada and Mexico. This self-releasing, self-promoting machine has released three titles, EP Radio Calisthenics, LP A Piece of It and the current LP Disco Bloodbath (2005).
