Lake Effect Mud
The Biography

Imagine that you are somewhere that knows no pain or suffering, hate, doubt, or fear.

That the world is a perfect place, where "normality" has been defined, accepted, and adhered to by all.

Everything is in implicit order. Then, suddenly you've been smashed in the head by something.

Are you dead?

You hear a noise, a ringing in your ear. As it keeps getting louder, your ears begin to make sense of what they are hearing. The noise has become music, but is it all just in your head? Wake up, you've just been brought back to reality by Lake Effect Mud.

They are just four ordinary small town chumps that went to the same high school together and shared a common interest, music. Several years later, after realizing the power of music, Lake Effect Mud released "Externalfixation". (A hard hitting album produced by the band in their cold, smelly band space in the basement of one of the oldest buildings in Watertown, NY) They descibe it as a "real" album. An album that they believe in and an album they have committed the last ten months to.

The songs on the new album are driven by influences ranging from Tool to Garth Brooks, and express some of the deepest and most intimate moments shared by the band. Over the last 6 years their live shows has gained the crowds respect, across Northern New York.

In December of 2000, Lake Effect Mud opened up for Diffuser at the Strand Music Theater (Mission Impossible 2 Soundtrack). The fans gave them the greatest support imaginable, making them feel right at home.
