HISTORY. There's something special about a KRANK show. When the house lights go down and the intro booms from the speakers, there's an anxious, almost uneasy feeling that something incredible is about to happen. Fog slowly envelopes the stage, enshrouding the shadowy figures beneath the flickering stage lights. BOOM! Suddenly the stage explodes in an onslaught of sound and light as the band rushes th the edge of the stage almost as if to attack the very crowd itself. Hold on to your seats, because the intensity wont let up until the final meltdown of guitar chords are ringing in your ears! Where the hell did these guys come from you ask? Ok here goes.... 1982- Pennsauken, NJ Founding member Frank Tyson meets guitarist Mike force in a local rehearsal studio. They found a common interest in bands like AC/DC, Judas Priest & Aerosmith. They decided to put a band together & play cover tunes in local clubs. After a revolving door of auditions, they hooked up with drummer Jack Hammer, recommended by a fellow musician on the club circuit. They began to play small clubs around NJ using several different bassist until they found upstate NY bassist Kevin Mercer via a musicians referral service. The final piece of the puzzle was complete! 1983- The band, now complete takes the emerging hard rock scene by storm! Playing mostly covers, their set also included some of their first originals. Their live show soon captured the attention of area fans, complete with pyrotechnics, special effects, and an aggressive stage presence, commanded by front man Frank's onstage tirades & taunts, whipping the crowds into a frenzy. In addition, their off-stage exploits soon became the stuff of legend. Word of mouth soon spread about this band as being a circus sideshow attraction that had to be seen to be believed. 1984-85 Philadelphia/South Jersey soon became to small for KRANK as they expanded their territory into North Jersey, NY, PA, and DE. They decided to drop the covers and focus solely on originals in an attempt to secure a record deal. They began to play high profile shows, opening for Twisted Sister, Megadeth, & Loudness, while back at home, bands like Cinderella & Britney Fox were oping shows for them. Metal Blade Records president Brian Slagel took notice, & offered the band a spot on his labels "Metal Massacre 7" compilation album. Their song "Rented Heat was selected & eventually went on to make a second appearance on "The Best of Metal Blade Vol. 2". A full recording contract soon followed. 1986- KRANK goes into the studio to record their debut LP "Hideous". The album was recorded in Philly's Warehouse Studio with Bon Jovi/ Lita Ford producer Obie O'brian at the helm. Released worldwide, the album was well received in the hard rock community. Positive reviews were printed in mags including Circus, Hit Parader, Metal Forces, Rip, Kerrang & Metal Edge. KRANK followed up with a U.S. tour & newly designed stage show. 1987- L.A. CA. After a successful tour, ending up in L.A, differences in musical direction arise & cause the band to go their separate ways. 1995- Just for the hell of it, Frank & Kevin rehearse together with guitarists Bryan Kelley & Tony Tomasello, and drummer Scott Forte. KRANK is reborn!. The band returns to the local club circuit from whence they came & interest in the band is revived briefly. 2002- After being mistakenly billed as " The Return of 80's Metal Band KRANK", a huge fan base turns up hoping to relive the glory days of old. Upon seeing this the band decided to pull the old stage show & long lost songs out of mothballs & give the fans what they were asking for. 2003- With the release of UGLY GIFT, the bands first new material in 16 years, KRANK prooves they haven't lost their edge and still rock with the best of them. Original members Frank and Kevin return along with `95 holdover drummer Scott Forte and new guitar prodigy J.D. DeMaio with new tunes that mesh completely with the older material that defined the band in the 80's. "We want to give the fans what they want. They've been waiting a long time for this & wont be disappointed" Kevin Mercer "This is the most cohesive unit we've ever had!" Frank Tyson YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! KRANK IS BACK!
