What do you get when you mix the best of grunge with old school metal? No, it's not a guy in flannel and spandex, it's FLUPEJAC. Originally hailing from Poughkeepsie, NY and now residing in the most unlikely of places, Hollywood, CA, here's a band with a real gimmick...they simply rock!

With the release of their debut album Like It Is...on Land Speed Records, this power trio is proving just that. With the song "Brand New Heavy" leading the charge, having been featured on FOX television's Freaky Links, from the creators of THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT, as well as being selected by Hilary Rosen of the RIAA as the "Alternative Pick of the Week" on the Ultimate Band List, FLUPEJAC shows that great rock doesn't need gimmicks. Along with FOX sports recently licensing the entire album for use on their extreme sports programs and college and underground radio starting to buzz the time is right for the unique sound of FLUPEJAC.

But don't take our word for it, here's what others are saying...

"This is intense, solid rock that charges forward at top speed. Flupejac may be a Hollywood band, but there's no glitter or showbiz here. 'Like It Is' has no fillers -- each song is powerful, passionate, and capable of ripping holes through your stereo speakers. Consider yourself warned."

Jennifer Layton, Indie-Music.com -- www.Indie-Music.com

"Flupejac have a secret-weapon influence called Classic Rock...The drums are always dead-on; the guitar boils under the surface of a fast bass line. Vocals a skosh on the Mark Arm side of life...it sounds so good."

Ms. Molly Van, Bandoppler Radio -- www.bandoppler.com

"[Flupejac] have come up with an album that deserves your undivided attention, not only because of the sound, but also that the band are unpretentious & have an unassuming style that pretends to be nothing more than straight up rock...Definitely worth your while checking out..."

--hEARD Magazine - www.ozemail.com.au/~hmag/intl.html

"Flupejac have craftily created an unblemished sound...translates excellently when you see 'em live. Get ready to digest some distortion, feedback, melodious vocals and tight musicianship, and sit back for a robust musical meal."

--Splendid E-zine - www.splendidezine.com/reviews/may-1-00/aag.html

"Flupejac dish out some alt. radio spinners with "Brand New Heavy," "Peel and Shove" & " Gravy Train"...Mixing a solid and powerful melodic rock with similarities to Placebo, Soundgarden & Stone Temple Pilots..."Covet is beyond a lost-love dream and overall Flupejac is something this new fan would love to hear incorporated into the mod rock mix of repetitious rap and redundant, railroading speed rock as this is what melodic rock should be!

Get Fancy - www.getfancy.com

"Take the great texture and atmosphere of the Screaming Trees on speed, a thicker, fuller, more capable (lyrically and sonically) Mark Arm of Mudhoney and add some uplifting bass lines and bam: you've got a portrait of Flupejac...Hints of musical genius and diversity which recall Smashing Pumpkins in their hey-day ("Peel and Shove") and a more optimistic and fun-loving Nirvana ("Brand New Heavy") are packed with vibrancy and energy, as well as nicely woven musicianship and tight melodies and rhythms...In the very least you can't help but be inspired by a band that manages to live in the wallowing superficial decay of image-conscience Los Angeles, filled to the brim with glam rock and faddy ska-punk and metal bands, and still remain so simple and true."

Brian Connelly - MuzikMan's Sound Script

"What the hell is a Flupejac? Is it a fancy Swedish name for a lamp at Ikea? Nope, fearless readers. Try a tub thumping trio from LA via Poughkeepsie, NY whose eight track CD does in fact tell it LIKE IT IS. Not ever heavy to numb the senses, yet powerful enough to get a groove going on ("One To Go On"), these guys have got potentially the best mix of 80's glam, 90's grunge and good 70's arena rock going ("Gravy Train", "Brand New Heavy"). Solid as Fort Knox ("Covet"), with some excellent fretwork and tight rhythms, these guys pull off the difficult musical task of sounding familar without plagiarizing any world famous rock band. Flupejac hits all the right pockets and anyone that digs Vertical Horizon, as well as STP and Nirvana should dig these guys. Potent stuff."
