The merging of three Columbus,OH deviants with very different musical tastes who find a common ground in fast and furious punk rock. They never asked to take on the world but the world spit on their shoes, so now it's on! Downtrodn was formed in late July 1999 by four friends who were spread a crossed several small towns in central Ohio. Aaron, Daeron, Ken and Luke began this musical journey practicing and playing shows in park shelters and friend's garages. Aaron (guitar/vocals) and Daeron (drums/vocals) had already been playing together for four years and were in the short lived band "Down and Out" with Ken (bass/vocals). Luke was a mutual friend devoted to the punk rock scene, but parted ways with Downtrodn in September 2000 only six months after the release of the bands first EP "Riot" Downtrodn continued playing and released a second EP "Social Skar" in 2001 which helped them garner attention and shows outside their home town. Also in 2001, the band relocated to Columbus, Ohio and was able to secure regular gigs at several local venues which have helped to expand their ever-growing fan base. Now being located in a more active musical climate they are touring as often as possible and have just released their third EP "Ants on the Hill." Downtrodn has always been about communicating their experiences, struggles, and political ideas with their fellow humans on this mud ball we call earth.
