How do you combine hard rock music, addictive pop hooks, searing guitars and a quintessential pop/rock voice? Very carefully. The result is Doug Painter. A trained classical guitarist growing up in Washington D.C., Doug's musical direction took a sharp turn with the influence of rock culture and Marshall amplifiers. For six years, Doug honed his chops playing and singing in D.C. rock bands, including Rainbow (not Ritchie Blackmore's), Spyce and Empire. Doug developed a loyal following from his voice and distinctive guitar work, which combines piercing staccatos and assaultive playing with the framework of his classical training. Today, Doug lives in Los Angeles, where he divides his time pursuing his first passion, music, and working as a successful litigation attorney.
