DIVERGENCE is a pure rock band. Hailing from Tyler, TX, since 2002, Divergence has steadily built a fan base around East Texas and the Dallas area.
Without synthesizers or a DJ, Divergence relies on the power of Jason Brown's skillful and powerful drumming and Brian Pettijohn's solid bass playing. Guitar players Brandon Smith and Tom Guffey deliver a stunning twin guitar attack that is nothing short of inspiring. Divergence is rounded out by Tom's emotional and often moving vocal stylings.
With all of their original music Divergence has an entertaining and energetic sound that doesn't let up and keeps you off of your guard.
Divergence's latest effort, a 5 song EP was recorded at Walker Studios by Garrin Walker of the Deaf Pedestrians and produced by Garrin and Divergence. This EP is an example of Divergence's unique style of rock music at its finest. Ranging from the hard hitting headbangers "Fallen Angel" and "Sponger," to whimsical numbers such as "Dr. Pizza" and "Sarah and Anna" to the more serious and refined "Mexico," the disc is a prime example of the energy and effort Divergence puts forth.
