All Genres > Rock > Grunge > USER: Semi-Mental Journey

USER is in the vein of the darker internal music emerging from the underbelly of today's turmoil.
Keeping it all in the open, USER has compiled a large body of music with a lead foot attitude and a keen awareness of when to slam on the brakes and get out the RPG.

Not to be confused with some prefabricated promo marketing strategy, or some corporate lapdog luser band out there confusing everybody with Crap, USER is about independence in sound, taking chances, exploring the mysteries of words and music, oliberating in these times of boundary driven box-it up mentality.

But it did not start last week.
Oh no my friends, it's been a struggle.
It all began when USER materialized in that transitional year of 1996 and wasted no time snortin out the debut disk Semi-Mental Journey. Like the times
Grunge was dead; torture disco rock was flailing everywhere
and the roaring 20s object status adulations where packing brains with fast feet attitude, USer was no exception and mirrored the moments.
A very eclectic disc, USER explores many sides of the doomed and rabid with moments that explode with utter discontent and then light up with a firework display of pure rebellion and symbolic tribal chants.

From Semi-Mental, the video Cyclops was released in 1997 to an international spotlight with rotation on Canada's Much Music to the PULSE in the UK and Comcast networks USA. Whipped up in a few words it is a campy visual prophetic tale about an AWOL soldier lost in the blazing heat of the desert that is willing to sacrifice lots to gain paradise.

USER is gonna be getting pushed around soon enough
So look out.
