A famous spin doctor once said that Pennsylvania is Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in between. Still, surrounded by meadows and miles of empty road with not a skyscraper in sight, rural Pennsylvania knows how to deliver the rock. Formed in the fall of 2001, The Sinking Earth has taken cues from Black Flag, Clutch, Fu Manchu, Blue Cheer and The Melvins, just to name a few. They've been fortunate enough to have shared the stage with acts such as High on Fire, Jucifer, C.O.C., Alabama Thunderpussy, Anthrophobia, The Kiss of Death, Dysrhythmia, Sullen and The Shocker. In April 2003 the band recorded the demo "God Bless You All and Your Cowbells." Also recorded during that session was one of the band's first songs, "Geronimo," which appears on DRP Records' Gimmie the Medicine Vol. II compilation. "Sunbeaten" was recorded in the fall of 2004 and released Dec. 16, 2004 on DRP Records. Rawk! Get it now!
