Sediment, in its earliest stages, was formed three years ago when four friends decided that they were bored, so they would create a band. The guys invested in the equipment needed and started to learn how to play their individual instruments. The band then started to learn cover songs and would sit around and play them for friends on weekend nights. The band soon realized that they needed a singer because they all had bad voices. Sediment increased to a five man band and the group quickly learned enough covers to start playing at parties. During the second half of their senior year in high school, they played several shows and recorded a seven song CD of original music. After that, the five guys went away to their first years in college and put all things on the shelf until next summer. That next summer, the singer left the band to be in another local band that played harder music. Sediment was back to a four man band, but the guys quickly found a new lead singer. This is when Daniel joined the band and brought his singing style to Sediment. Daniel quickly became "one of the boys" and the band played only a few shows that summer, but recorded a three song demo, containing Twist The Knife, Conformity Ad, and Don't See, at a local recording studio. After recording the three song demo, the band was informed that their rhythm guitarist would be leaving the band due to lack of interest. Sediment was now again a four man band. The band then had to put things on hold once again for their second years of college and Daniel's senior year of high school. During the later half of the school year, the band recorded Daylight 201 in memory of Daniel's classmate and friend. When the summer of 2001 finally rolled around, the band had 4 songs on CD and a few others waiting to be recorded. The band then went to work, making a total of 12 songs including the four previously recorded ones, and recorded their first full length CD titled Self Titled. The band has been playing shows and will continue to find shows as their popularity is increasing around the Southern Indiana area.
