The final album I created living in Boston and the first one playing the Chapman Stick. After I was done with Differ, the album before this one, I was determined to put together another album, write and record within a year. The title, refers to two things: my career in the printing industry was blossoming and the overall music and technical things that I had learned over the time were quite...advanced compared to the last two albums. Working at night, I spent most of my days producing Advance, recording feedback guitars and experimenting with vocal harmonies that I really didn’t do much in the past. Drums were recorded at a buddies place some 40 minutes away from where I lived. And some of the material was recorded in Jersey. Most of the music is written about work, relationships and other odd/dreamery type things. I also picked up the Stick, which is a tapping instrument utilizing bass and guitar on one fretboard. Some personal favorites: The Ache-I was dealing with work politics one day and dealing with a horrible tooth ache at the same time! A terrible day of pain. Advance-about a self conscience fat person living in the world of thin. Basically, our society today. Slow Rain-a fun instrumental featuring the Stick which I just started to learn.
