"Crash!" went the bass drum as it shattered on the front lawn. It was the end of an era. "Yeah, I threw his drums out on the lawn," said Jim Markunas, fadproof's spikey-haired frontman, "He ditched out on a show." This fit of rage marked the end of Jim's former band, but from the ashes of Jim's burned bridge, Fadproof arose. "I'm serious about getting our music out there, and if someone else in the band isn't as dedicated as I am, then I refuse to work with him." Indeed, Fadproof has become one of Illinois' most dedicated and energetic neo-grunge bands. Consisting of, Jim Markunas (Guitar and Vocals), Eli Hamel (Bass), and Matt McMillan (Drums), Fadproof's music attracts punks, metal-heads, mainstreamers, emo-kids, and alt-rockers alike. After a few months of writing new material, Jim decided it was time to record. "Extend This!" Fadproof's independent debut was recorded as a two-piece, "I couldn't find a bass player that had very much skill or personality, so I decided to do the bass parts on our first album myself," Jim stated. After a year of trying to find a permanent bass player, Jim met Eli Hamel on the front steps of his residence hall at Eastern Illinois University. "Eli just fell in to my lap," Jim laughed, "He was what Fadproof was lacking, a talented and dependable bass player." "I had only known Jim 10 minutes, when he asked me to join Fadproof," Eli reminisces, "It was like fate." The two instantly clicked and started writing new material. Fadproof played out constantly in the central Illinois area, eventually being voted the second best band in Cole's county, but the band didn't take kindly to being number two. "We weren't at all happy about only being second best, we wanted to be the best!" Eli stated Fadproof didn't take the upset lying down. The band recorded their sophmore album, "Music for the Well-Adjusted," a few months later. What are the hardworking members of Fadproof up to now? They're using the internet, frat parties, and bars, (lot's of bars!), to rebuild their following in hopes of making a name nationally. So expect to see huge things from the "well-adjusted" members of Fadproof. Check out the artist's website: http://www.fadproof.com Track List: 1. Learn to Forget 2. Walk the Sand 3. Jail 4.
