BabyHead has been brewing in Colorado for the past five years and are ready to give the world a taste. Their blend of Folk/Grunge has taken the West by storm and they return to New York as conquering heroes ready for their next step towards worldwide success. Guitarist and Singer Michael "Spike" Ruffalo moved to Colorado in '97 and liked the scene so much, he convinced his partner Jerry Jeff Gore to join him. Spike and Jerry (also a singer and guitarist) cut their teeth playing every local ski town and Front Range gig possible. For the next five years they wrote countless songs and gigged constantly, Whether it was by themselves or with numerous national acts such as Dread Zeppelin, Marshall Tucker, Tad Bonet or The String Cheese Incident, just to name a few. In 2001 they visited New York's Millbrook Sound Studios for a month to record their first CD entitled "One Of Them." Joining the band on drums was Norman DelTufo and session bassist Albert Carey. The album showcased Spike and Jerry's down to earth style. Truthful, honest, raw and sometimes brutal, the CD received rave reviews and was a great seller. BabyHead spent the next year back in Crested Butte, CO. writing new songs and supporting the record. By 2002 Spike and Jerry returned to New York to record a second CD. They once again will record at Millbrook and this time they've landed Frank Carillo as their producer. A tentative title for the new disc is "Broken." Expect this album to continue to display BabyHead's trademark singer/songwriter style in the vein of Dylan, Neil Young, Nirvana, and Tom Petty. Look for their new release in the fall.
