A FICTIONAL ACCOUNT OF THE TRUTH Chapter I... fear and loathing in the bayou & the pros and cons of autoasphyxiation... When his double wide trailer was swept away in the path of hurricane Katrina, the Reverend C. Arden Hinds found himself homeless and lost. Hitching to the northwest and leaving the bible in the swamp he set out for the city of roses. A short time later, in the city of angels, the demise of the seminal r&b band, The DC5, happened suddenly. The singer,Mick Slabtown, had auto-asphyxiated himself at a local s&m bar. With his band in ruins,band leader, Dano Capristo, hires a limo and heads north. The distraught drummer strikes up a conversation with his driver, Jeeves, and persuades him to take up the bass guitar and change his name to Gilles. Meanwhile.... Chapter II... ac on the plane from d.c. and a model reason not to date models ... on the red eye from Washington DC, Chance Hausler can't sleep. a broken transfixiator in the air conditioning has turned 1st class into a fridgidaire. The convergence of the ac problem on the flight from DC creates a strange loop in his sub-conscious. He will never again be able to listen to acdc without breaking into tremors (known as" indie-fits"). His flight lands in Portland. West coast native, Michael Pieretti, waits for his super-model girlfriend to arrive at PDX. Her fight from Milan arrives without her on it. In her place he receives a courier delivered letter telling that she's left him for Hollywood actor Keanu Reeves. Heartbroken he stops at the airport bar for a tequila or two or three.... Chance, rattled from his horrible flight, decides to go to the same bar to wash away the memory of the flight. He strikes up a conversation with Pieretti who offers to give him a ride to his hotel. Chapter III...a band is formed as a car is sacrificied at the altar of Pinky Tuscadero... On the outskirts of Portland, Gilles and Dano pick up a hitchhiking C. Arden Hinds and offer to give him a lift. At the epicenter of Portland, the burnside bridge, their destinies are forever intertwined. Gilles, exhausted from the 20 hour drive and distracted by an episode of "Happy Days" playing on the dvd player, overlooks the red light and plows into Michael's 1962 mercedes. The limo and the benz are trashed as fate throws these 5 subversives into the sonic underworld. BlackHeart WhiteNoise is formed.
