WELCOME TO THE SPEAKEASY...

Pilgrim Speakeasy’s music comes over like the lovechild of Funkadelic ,world music and a cosmic third Party with drinks served by Neitzsche and whatever was behind the Lau Tsu.......
Percussive but emphatic rhythms and over abundant melodies, ripping guitars, fonky bass lines and earthy percussion and we are only on the first course; hang around for a dessert of diversity.
The music is written performed, recorded and produced by Roger Davies aka Pilgrim Speakeasy, who to date has recorded 4 full albums of material, since 2000. Pilgrim Speakeasy has played in many bands since his musical beginnings in Scotland (with interest from established music businesses and producers)but it was in London town that he founded his infamous 'Playthings'- funk/cosmic invaders of raw awareness and sublime human commentary.
Pilgrim Speakeasy believes that as we are on the cusp of great change in our world, it is necessary that we communicate our values in order that we may evolve a future that represents our most treasured ideals, and that now, music and art have an obligation to inform peoples feelings as to the possibilities of evolution so as to avoid potential material enslavement.
Since journeying to the wilds of Scandinavia (after 4 years with his London Playthings and some literally ‘ecstatic’ (!) audiences) the speakeasy tree has grown other branches magnetising evolutionary individuals with it's originality of soundscapes and lyrical propositions. IT continues to evolve.
