TRIPTOPHONIC is a body of work that flows from one genre to the next seamlessly. It was far too big a project to be put on one CD. The band felt it necessary to release all the material at once so a Double CD was the best method for them to accomplish this goal. Each CD has a distinct feel. Disc 1 is presented as a party atmosphere while Disc 2 is darker and more for the listener with eclectic tastes who enjoys different styles of music not generally seen in the mainstream. ****************************** Guerrilla Funk Monster is a four piece original band with an experimental musical style that blends rock, blues, funk, punk, reggae, and world music in such a unique way that it is hard to categorize. They simply cannot be defined by just one genre. Their eclectic mix of songs provides the audience with diversity, intensity, and creative musicianship. THE ONE THING THAT REMAINS THE SAME IS THAT THEY KEEP PEOPLE CAPTIVATED ON AND OFF OF THE DANCE FLOOR ALL NIGHT LONG WITH THEIR INTENSE GROOVE-ORIENTED SOUND. The band draws from a wide range of influences that include: Jimi Hendrix, The Meters, Funkadelic, James Brown, Tom Waits, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Faith No More, The Minutemen, Manu Chao, Bob Marley, Fishbone, and Fela Kuti. Formed in 2001, Guerrilla Funk Monster has played hundreds of shows all over Canada, and has received radio play and press all over canada and in select parts of the Americas, Europe, and Australia.
