Recorded at Egg Studios with Conrad Uno at the controls the debut full-length release by Tugboat Country combines elements of folk, punk, country, and good old rock n' roll. But this ain't no twang or alt. country band - just firmly grounded in the American tradition of songwriters from Bob Dylan and John Fogerty to Paul Westerberg and the Pixies. Tugboat Country was formed in Seattle in 2003. The four-piece consists of two sets of brother in-laws - among them two songwriters (not brother in-laws). Guitarist Ben Guernsey grew up in a musical family. His father Tom was the founder and principal songwriter for the Hangmen, a legendary sixties Washington, DC garage rock band. The rest of the band had to acquire their talents by their wits alone and includes Blaine Fielding on guitar, Alfred DeBlasio on the bass and AJ Verdugo on drums.
