Treva Blomquist - bio

“A Powerhouse Vocalist…” –Jeff Pearson, Bluebird Café host

“…a voice that will draw you right into her beautiful melodies and unique sound” – Centralia College, Centralia WA

“Her smooth, pure voice caught our ear at an open audition in 2004 and her rock solid performance on an earlier show left no doubt we were witnessing an exceptional craftsperson at work.” – Mark Wehner, Americana Tonight

Seattle meets Nashville will get you Treva Blomquist. Treva’s music blurs the boundaries of rock, folk, Americana and soul and lays a solid foundation on which to showcase her insightful and captivating lyrics. Artists that Treva is often compared to include Patty Griffin and Mindy Smith.
Equally at home playing an acoustic set or rocking out with her band ‘The Suits’, Treva Blomquist has been polishing her live set on various Nashville stages. Treva and The Suits recently wrapped up a successful tour of the Pacific Northwest. A Seattle musician had this to say after watching their set at the Seattle Just Plain Folks Winter Showcase (January 2006): “Treva and her band are obvious pros. They have a show rather than a collection of songs. They’ve rehearsed the songs, the arrangement and the act as a whole and it all shows. Pay attention to these folks!”
Treva has made a name for herself as a songwriter through her participation in Nashville’s Tin Pan South, Seattle’s RockRGrl Music Conference and as a new folk finalist in the 2005 Kerrville Folk Festival. She is also a frequent guest on the Americana Tonight Showcase at Douglas Corner and at the Bluebird Café.
Treva will be releasing her first CD in May 2006 titled Plain Vanilla Me. The disc is an all acoustic project with Ben Gortmaker, lead guitarist for The Suits.
