Jan 2006 UPDATE!!
Hey People, check out Temple's new band, "Beastwith2Backs." Their debut album is out now! Buy it at CDBABY or hear more at www.beastwith2backs.com.

The Album, The Man, The Sound:
Like milk-thistle in December, this late-blooming prodigy comes strong and thorny on his hypnotic debut album. Returning from his 3-year sabbatical to the bars and brothels of China and the Far East, Temple finally brings his pagan prophet songbook to America. He's got songs for skeptics, songs for sinners, beats for the shameless, grooves for heavy hitters. MonsterTruck in China I brings everything from the dank gut-check funk of "Scylla" to the crisp levity of "Underground" and the sublime egotism of "World That Won't Need Me." Soaring vocals, beautifully severe lyrics, deft guitar work and unique song structures all announce Temple as a nascent and rising star.

Sounds Like: Tom Waits pureed and poured into the body of Jeff Buckley
For People Who Like: Dead Can Dance, Pink Floyd, Tom Waits, and Baudelaire
For People Who Despise: All that is flaccid and gutless; nicey-nice-boy pop like John Mayer, Jack Johnson and other porcelain-skulled castrati.

The One-Man, One-Ruckus Method:
When you first hear the album, you'll assume that Temple is a band. In fact, Temple is a one-man show. MTIC I has 12 tracks, written, performed, recorded and produced by Temple alone. The songs you hear are performed solo and recorded live, without pre-programming, pre-recording, or overdubbing. Temple uses 2 Line 6 DL4's and the Line 6 POD along with guitars and harmonicas to create his songs. All sounds are made with these tools only. This is in radical contrast to Beck's cut and paste, rob and rape vulture's collage and Britney Spears' karaoke-aerobic zeitgeist. Temple believes that: "To record only what can be performed is to capture most intimately the immediacy of music in its time and place and to strive for the highest technical and artistic ideals. All else is memory and dismemberment."
Listen again...but truly, it must be seen to be disbelieved.
!Buy now and be the first to renounce Temple when he sells out and becomes mainstream!
