Waking up the Storm became a Middle-east, Mid-west collaboration. It began when ideas were taken and recorded in a bomb shelter in Haifa, then a studio in the Jordan Valley, and another in small town Illinois. Some of Psalm's most intriguing and personal songs were written in Jerusalem during the intensity of the Middle East conflicts. Rather unexpectedly, the songs are not political. They are lyrically based with Middle-eastern overtones - minor keys that dont take themselves too seriously.

It's a kaleidescope of images in haunting melodies. Wouldn't you like to hear what that means?

About Psalm...Psalm is a girl, not a band. She began writing songs and wanting to play them in the inner city, Richmond. She has lived in Chicago, South Africa, and Israel is home. She is, most recently, moving to Hong Kong where she will continue to write and perform. She tells stories of time, prophecy, the desert. She cares about the world and wants to write about it. This is some of where it comes from...
