Ken Gonsalves has for many years explored outside the parameters of his hometown Benicia CA. in search for something that he believed awaited him. Though he never knew what it was. Growing up in a small town was a bit compelling for a while, but soon Ken begin to take his chances even if it meant breaking the house rules. He'd traveled throughout the California Bay Area during his youth, which benefited him with a hearty experience that he often refer to while reminiscing. After struggling as a working class man, he decided to seek experience elsewhere, still believing that there was more to life than working a rut. He attended the University of California at Berkeley where he had received a B.A in American Studies, and met Tony P Miller, his producer. After reading Ken's expression of his passion to write about his hometown and experience, and seeing the efforts Ken made in conveying his writing in songs, Tony had welcomed Ken to record his story at GP Productions' Studio B. Here is where Hometown took on a life of it's own. The making of Hometown was spontaneous in that Tony P listened and composed the music as Gonsalves told the story of each song. Hometown was recorded, mixed, and mastered to sound as natural as a live band performance. This album is a mixture of Country and Soft Rock, and it is flavored with elements of a variety of genres lining from Blues to Hip Hop. Hometown was released November 20th. So far it has been a success at three CD parties, 1. At GP Productions/ TPM Records, 2. AT the University of California at Berkeley, and 3. At the BDES Hall in Benicia.
