You'll see doug playing his song "Blue Room"
in the
Universal Pictures Film
One True Thing
with
Meryl Streep & Renee Zellweger.
He does a live version of "Blue Room" on this CD

"A little Bit...Live" is a recording of one of my acoustic shows at the Globe Theater in Norwalk, CT. The master tapes of this show have been on a shelf in my room for a long time and I've always liked listening to them, so while in between recording tunes for the new CD and getting the band ready to hit the road, I decided to release my favorite songs of that night on CD. Hope ya like 'em.

Since the movie
things have gotten better
Not just in music but overall.
I've got a dog now.
He's a Belgian Sheepdog and he's my total Bud.

Also, I don't put as much pressure on myself these days,
even less on other people.
That's just growing up I guess.
It's the same thing we talked about last time...
"the harder you push for things sometimes, the more resistance you can get."
So work hard but take it easy.
I never expected I'd be playing one of my songs in a
Meryl Streep Movie...I was painting houses at the time,

Then one day THE PHONE RANG FROM CALIFORNIA
AND I WAS ON MY WAY TO PLAYING 'BLUE ROOM' in the
UNIVERSAL PICTURES FILM, ONE TRUE THING.

That's not to say you don't have to work hard,
you definately do.
But as far as working with other people, you pretty much have to let them do what they do. If you want a drummer to play like Zeppelin's John Bonham, than you'ld better find a guy who already does that kind of thing and not try to make a Neil Young drummer play hard.

Hold out for what you want, work hard and don't take any shit from people...
That's my formula for success (laughs)

RECORDS-

I've got the live CD out on CDBaby (Yea!) and now I'm finishing up my third album on Archer Records. I'm pretty psyched about it. It's called "Hollywood," named after the title track. I've been workiing with Scott Spray on Bass (Edgar Winter Group) and Richard Crooks on drums (Bob Dylan's 'Blood on the Tracks')in the studio and I'll be doing more recording and touring this spring with my new band: Doug Grober on drums, Tbone Stone on Hammond and Keys, Angelo Biasi-Piano, Jamie Lebish-guitar, and Lanny Shreve on Bass. Hit the website for tourdates we'd love to meet you guys -

Everyone over here has been great. Brian and Bruce from "Smith & Barber the Morning Show" get me on quite a bit to play in the studio or at their remote broadcasts at Bars, Parking lots, Beach Party's, dog shows...whatever.

Thanks to Peter Sachs at Iconn.net. for
setting up my original web page. Without
Pete, non of this website stuff would be
happening for me. Thanks Pete.

And thanks to Derek and everybody at CDBaby. You guys are cool and you got balls. This whole web page/advice/sell your CDs over the internet while avoiding big companies telling you what to do while they keep most of the money thing, that CDBaby offers is awesome! I have n't sold any CDs yet and it is my first day here. But I gotta say, I'm diggin' it.
